Hire Rates

Our club charges members by GPS flight time (airswitch time), rather than VDO (engine running time). This takes effect when the GPS Flight Log records airspeed above 30kts and over 250ft in altitude.

A fixed ground charge of 0.2hrs ($31) applies for the first hour of the day that the pilot hires the plane for. This charge is to offset the ground running cost whilst encouraging pilots not to rush the engine warm up and shut down, which has typically worked out to be 0.3 engine time (including taxi time). It also caps the ground running costs for pilots that get delayed on the ground at Jandakot while waiting to take off during busy traffic periods.

All hire rates include GST, headset and life jacket use.

When refuelling from country air strips, higher hire rates will apply if the cost of the fuel differential is greater than that of Jandakot.

Hint: When hiring an aircraft from an organisation, consider if the quoted costs include GST, engine time versus flight time, and if any other booking fees apply.

Training Rates

Instructor (As per Air Australia)  $100 to $110 an hour plus GST
Dual Rate (Flying lesson)   Instructor rate plus hire rate (aprox $235/hr)
For every five hours of flying training, you get 1 hour of aircraft hire free

Airservices and Jandakot Charges

Full Stop-Jandakot  $18.38 inc GST
Ciruits  $3.23/circuit inc GST
Circuits after hours $10.77 inc GST

Bookings

Members can pre book the aircraft by either contacting Flight Operations, OR by self service online at home via Goboko Bookings (you need to contact us for log in details first)

Whilst every effort is made to ensure accuracy, hire rates are calculated on a number of variables which are subject to change outside our control at any time. Our club holds responsibility for posting accurate hire rates on our website; however you are advised to confirm current instructor rates with Air Australia. The cost of an instructor depends on the grade (experience) of instructor. Standard aircraft hire rates only apply when refuelling from Jandakot. If you plan to refuel from other airports, then you need to arrange this through the committee as extra costs may be incurred.
